*3737. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Katchi Abadies be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that Katchi Abadies of Karachi have been merged in City District Government;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH (Chief Minister), Minister for Katchi Abadies:

    (a)      No. however, under section 20(2) of SKA Act 1987, Katchi Abadies notified before establishment of Sindh Katchi Abadies Authority vested to council.

    (b)      As above. 

*3742. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Katchi Abadies be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that some land allocated for “Low Cost Housing Scheme” of CDGK has been allotted for commercial use during 2008 to 2013;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH (Chief Minister), Minister for Katchi Abadies:

    (a)      It is not fact. CDGK (KMC) has not allocated any land for Low Cost Housing Scheme during 2008 to 2013.

    (b)      As above. 

*3866. MS. SUMETA AFZAL SYED: Will the Minister for Katchi Abadies be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that Machar colony on Maripur road is considered a Katchi Abadi;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, steps being taken to upgrade the same?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH (Chief Minister), Minister for Katchi Abadies:

    (a)      Yes, Machar Colony on Mauripur road is included in master list of Katchi abadies and exists on KPT land.

    (b)      Under section 19(2) of SKA Act 1987, NOC is mandatory to regularize and upgrade Katchi Abadies situated over Federal Government land which is yet not issued by KPT.

 *5812. MR. KHURRAM SHER ZAMAN: Will the Minister for Katchi Abadies be pleased to state:-

What is the current progress on regularization of Katchi Abadies on land belonging to provincial government department and local government department?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH (Chief Minister), Minister for Katchi Abadies:

In Sindh province 617 Katchi Abadies exists on land belonging to Provincial Government Departments and Local Government departments. Up till now 341 out of 617 Katchi Abadies have been regularized (list at Annexure, placed on the Table of the House).

 *5814. MR. KHURRAM SHER ZAMAN: Will the Minister for Katchi Abadies be pleased to state:-

(a)      Whether the department has conducted a comprehensive survey of all existing Katchi Abadies in the province;

(b)      If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH (Chief Minister), Minister for Katchi Abadies:

    (a)      No. SKAA has conducted comprehensive survey of 341 Katchi Abadies out of 1013 Katchi Abadies notified by SKAA so far.

    (b)      Details are as under:-
