What action has been taken by the department in this regard?

NAND KUMAR, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Revenue, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that ASI Tabasum Ali of Anti-Encroachment Department was martyred during his duty with Polio Team in the area of Police Station Peerabad. Since his death his family was not paid any compensation amount Gratuity, Pension, Financial Assistance etc. When same will be given?

 

6.  CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 07 OF 2017;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MR. KAMRAN AKHTER, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Health, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that the conditions of Health facilities are deplorable in Karachi City of about 300 Million people specially in Baldia Town. What are the reasons for non-completion of work on Benazir Trauma Center?

*2009. MS. KHAIRUNNISA MUGHAL: Will the Minister for Wildlife be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that for legal hunting of wildlife licenses are issued by the Government;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, name them?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH, (Chief Minister) Minister for Wildlife:

Yes. It is fact that legal hunting is in practice at Sindh Wildlife Department.

          Hunting season starts from 1st November and continues till last week of February. Every year permits/licenses fixing bag limits and shooting days are issued to applicants on payment of fees fixed by Government.

 *2011. MS. KHAIRUNNISA MUGHAL: Will the Minister for Wildlife be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that some rare animals of wildlife as deer etc. are found in the area of Wahi Pandhi, district Dadu;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the steps being taken by the government for their promotion/protection?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH, (Chief Minister) Minister for Wildlife:

    (a)      Yes, it is fact that deers are found in the area of (Wahi Pandhi) taluka Johi of district Dadu.

    (b)      Sindh Wildlife Department has deployed one Game Inspector and five Game Watchers as extra staff specially for the protection and conservation of the wildlife found in (Wahi Pandhi) taluka Johi, district Dadu.

 *2013. MS. KHAIRUNNISA MUGHAL: Will the Minister for Wildlife be pleased to state:-

Number of schemes sent by the department for ADP 2013-14 and out of them number of schemes approved?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH, (Chief Minister) Minister for Wildlife:

Following two development schemes were sent by department for approval for the year 2013-2014, the same schemes were passed and approved in the year 2014-2015.

1.    “Conservation and management of biodiversity and eco-tourism at Deh Akro II Wetland Complex (DAWC) wildlife sanctuary district Shaheed Benazirabad”.

2.    “Rehabilitation and improvement of Haleji and Lungh lakes wildlife sanctuary and establishment of Wetland information center at Lungh lake”.

 *3129. MR. KAMRAN AKHTAR: Will the Minister for Wildlife be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that three employees of the Department were caught and put behind the bar by Karachi Police at the time they were illegally possessing/carrying about 130KG of fresh water turtle meat in their high commands official vehicle for selling purpose;

(b)   Is it a fact that FIR was launched against three wild life officers except high command official i.e. conservator;

(c)    Is it also a fact that a high level enquiry committee was constituted by the Government to probe in to the matter;

(d)   If answer to (a) to (c) above are in affirmative, action taken by the Government against three officers including its head conservator?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH, (Chief Minister) Minister for Wildlife:

    (a)      Yes, it is fact but the accused were caught with shells of turtles and not the meat.

    (b)      Yes, it is also fact.

    (c)      Yes, it is true, a copy of enquiry report is at Annexure-I, placed on the Table of the House.

    (d)      It is apprised that above said case was challaned in the court of 3rd Judicial Magistrate Karachi South the Honourable Court acquitted all (03) accused official vide Judgment dated 10-02-2011, copy is at Annexure-II, placed on the Table of the House.

 *3130. MR. KAMRAN AKHTAR: Will the Minister for Wildlife be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it fact that from 2011 to 2012, 42 (Big Animals) “Sindh Ibex” were died and even more number of animals are suffering from various diseases and their health condition is very poor, If so, the reasons of mortality of animals in KNP may be furnished and what measures have been taken by the Department for providing medical treatment to said animals?

(b)   What kind of responsibilities has been fixed on those whose negligence caused such huge loss of these precious animals?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH, (Chief Minister) Minister for Wildlife:

Yes, It is a fact that 42 big animals died in the year 2011-12 and animals some were infected due to Pests Des Petits Ruminants (PPR) virus type diseases, which are spread and transmitted from domestic animals grazing together with the wild animals in their habitats, which is big cause of morality of some animals.

The infected animals were provided initial clinical and pathological treatment in Kirthar National Park with the assistance of Veterinary Doctors Diagnostic Laboratory Tandojam.

Due to viral diseases, responsibility cannot be fixed on the officer/officials of Sindh Wildlife Department for such epidemic in animals.

 *4214. MS. SUMETA AFZAL SYED: Will the Minister for Wildlife be pleased to state:-

Name of projects on which the department is currently working with international wildlife conservation organizations alongwith the name of the organizations also?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH, (Chief Minister) Minister for Wildlife:

Currently there is no such project in Sindh Wildlife Department in which department is working with International Wildlife Conservation Organizations.

 *6427. MR. KAMRAN AKHTAR: Will the Minister for Wildlife be pleased to state:-

Number/type of hunting permits issued to foreigners during 2015 and 2016? 

 ANSWER

01 permit for Urial and 11 permits for Sindh Ibex are issued upto 13-03-2017, whereas, 04 permits for Urial and 04 permits for Sindh Ibex are in balance. However, the trophy hunting season for 2016-17 will end on 31-03-2017.
