Number of drainage schemes approved for districts Dadu, Larkana, Khairpur, Sukkur and Mirpurkhas during 2010-11?

 ANSWER

MR. FAYAZ ALI BUTT, Minister for Public Health Engineering:

Total 10 numbers drainage schemes were approved during 2010-11 out of which 09 schemes were completed and 01 scheme is in progress.

 *1804. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Public Health Engineering be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that in taluka Johi, district Dadu there is scarcity of drinking water and people are compelled to use unhygienic and contaminated water of ponds and wells;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the intention of the government to provide drinking water and survey carried out for launching water supply schemes with estimated cost?

 ANSWER

MR. FAYAZ ALI BUTT, Minister for Public Health Engineering:

The most population of taluka Johi is in scattered area and people of major villages are getting drinking water from water supply schemes which are based on Tubewell source and many low populated villages are getting water from deep hand pumps. However more water supply schemes and deep hand pumps are required for left over villages/area to cover the maximum population of taluka Johi.

i.     List of completed water supply schemes of taluka Johi is at Annexure-I, placed on the Table of the House.

ii.   List of proposed water supply schemes and deep hand pump alongwith approximated estimated cost at Annexure-II, placed on the Table of the House.

 *2544. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Public Health Engineering be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that old system of water supply in Matli city has become useless and inhabitants are looking for a drop of water;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?

 ANSWER

MR. FAYAZ ALI BUTT, Minister for Public Health Engineering:

The water supply scheme Matli is not useless. It is functional and inhabitants of Matli city are getting water through existing scheme. However the scheme is insufficient currently for the following reasons:-

i.     Existing water supply scheme Ph-III, Matli was designed for the population of 40000 population upto year 1995 as such the design period of the scheme is exhausted and does not suffice the currently required quantity of water (Annexure-I, placed on the Table of the House).

ii.   Now Sindh Government has included the New phase of water supply for the above city In ADP 2014-15 for design population of 164900 persons for design period upto year 2027 amounting to Rs.707.300 million to fulfill the requirement of Matli city (Annexure-II, placed on the Table of the House).

 *6464. MR. KAMRAN AKHTAR: Will the Minister for Information Science & Technology be pleased to state:-

Grade-wise number of persons appointed in Information & Technology department during 2016-2017, whether all appointments were made on merit basis, if so the details thereof?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH (Chief Minister), Minister for Information Science & Technology:

No appointment during the period 2016 to 2017 have been made in Information Science & Technology Department.

 *6678. MR. KAMRAN AKHTAR: Will the Minister for Public Health Engineering be pleased to state:-

Grade-wise number of persons appointed in P.H.E Department during 2014-15 alongwith procedure adopted for the same?

 ANSWER

MR. FAYAZ ALI BUTT, Minister for Public Health Engineering:

No person was appointed during 2014-15 from 01-07-2014 to 30-06-2015 in Public Health Engineering Department.
