*1128. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Health be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that takula hospital Dokri named after comrade Hyder Bux Jatoi hospital is fruitless for the masses, doctors remain absent from duties, there is garbage vermin and shortage of medicines, funds have been mis-managed;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the steps being taken in this regard?

 ANSWER

DR. SIKANDAR ALI MANDHRO, Minister for Health:

    (a)      The fact is as under:-

Comrade Hyder Bux Jatoi Govt. Taluka Hospital Dokri is opened for 24 hours. OPD is around 450 per day. As many as 100 normal deliveries and 35 caesarean sections are conducted by Gynaecologist round the clock. All patients are provided essential medicines, hence neither hospital is fruitless nor are funds mismanaged.

The following medical and para-medical staff and health facilities are available in the hospital:

·         10 male doctors, 01 Chief WMO, 01 WMO (from MNCH) and 01 Dental Surgeon is providing round the clock service.

·         01 MLO deals the male Medico legal cases (MLCs) affairs, whereas female MLCs are being dealt by Chief WMO.

·         01 Gynaecologoist, 03 WMOs and one Paediatrician from an NGO (IHSAS) also provides round the clock services.

·         In collaboration with IHSAS NGO Gynae/Obs department has been established having 02 operation theaters with essential equipment and even in night, the cases of C-Section are not referred.

·         Under-5 clinic is also established which provides care and medicines to the patients under 5 years of age.

·         02 ambulances are available and are ready to face any kind of emergency.

·         The infrastructure of hospital is refurbished and updated and drainage system is under replacement even though the hospital is kept neat and clean.

·         In working hours hospital is providing the facility of ultrasound and x-rays.

·         Lab tests are being done round the clock includes blood grouping, pregnancy test, Hepatitis screening, complete blood count, HIV, Malarial Parasite and Urine detail report.

    (b)      Not applicable.

District/location-wise number of nursing schools exist in the province along with the number of students enrolled therein?

The district/location-wise number of nursing schools exist in the province along with number of students enrolled therein, as on 11-04-2017 is mentioned below:

(a)      Is it a fact that foundation stone of 300 beds pediatrics’ heart disease surgery unit has been laid down in NICVD, Karachi being constructed with financial assistance of Sindh Government;

(b)      If answer to (a) above is affirmative, date of completion and cost of the project?

 ANSWER

DR. SIKANDAR ALI MANDHRO, Minister for Health:

    (a)      A 258 bed peadiatrics cardiac unit is under construction as per PC-I, ADP No.432 (2015-16).

    (b)      The estimated completion date is June 2019 and the estimated cost of the project is Rs.1741.162 million.

 *5818. MR. KHURRAM SHER ZAMAN: Will the Minister for Health be pleased to state:-

What is the function of Health Services Director for Karachi?

 ANSWER

DR. SIKANDAR ALI MANDHRO, Minister for Health:

The directorate of health services Karachi is monitoring and supervising various preventive, curative and development activities in 06 districts of Karachi division through respective District Health Officer and Town Health Officers.

The detail is as under:-

·         Monitoring and supervision of preventive services viz immunization, health education, control of Malaria, Hepatitis, Polio, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Tuberculosis, Naegleria etc.

·         Mitigation response in case of disasters like rain, earthquake, heat stroke and flood (by providing health services to flood affected IDPs).

·         Supervision and monitoring of 08 major hospitals, 17 secondary care health facilities, 82 other facilities and 285 EPI centers and staff working therein.

·         Collection and maintenance of patient’s and disease’s data, its analysis and initiation of action as per disease pattern.

·         Vigilance and actions on illegal clinics, unauthorized medical stores and non-registered blood banks.

·         To ensure timely procurement and availability of medicines and allied items.

·         To prepare new development schemes regarding health facilities falling under the jurisdiction of Director Health Karachi.

·         Monitoring and supervision of activities conducted through Expanded Program on Immunization, National Program for Family Planning and Primary Health Care, Tuberculosis Control Program, Malaria Control Program, Hepatitis Prevention and Control Program etc.

·         Public awareness and health education to the masses on different issues of public health importance.

 *6656. MR. KAMRAN AKHTAR: Will the Minister for Health be pleased to state:-

Is it a fact that diseases of Pneumonia is spreading rapidly in the Province if so preventive measures taken by the Government in this regard as well as budget allocated for same during 2016-17?

 ANSWER

DR. SIKANDAR ALI MANDHRO, Minister for Health:

There is not a fact. No epidemic of Pneumonia is observed during preceding years. No separate budget is allocated for the said disease.

 *6675. MR. KAMRAN AKHTAR: Will the Minister for Health be pleased to state:-

Number of people died of gastro and malaria disease in Tharparkar during 2014-15 and 2015-16?

Number of people died due to gastroenteritis and malaria in district Tharparkar during 2014-15 and 2015-16 is given below:
