KAMRAN AKHTER, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Local Government, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that there are heaves of garbages everywhere in District West Karachi specially in Baldia Town and the drains yet not clean causing the drain water in the streets and the epidemic Malaria and dengue spreading rapidly; steps taken by the Government in this regard?

2.  CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 02 OF 2017;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY SYED AMEER HYDER SHAH SHEERAZI, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Local Government, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that no cleaning work yet not done by the TMO Thatta during the recent rains?

3.  CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 07 OF 2017;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MS. NUSRAT BANO SEHER ABBASI, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Revenue, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that Government of Sindh has failed to stop illegal construction work by the Land Mafia on Government Land Survey No: 337 near Rohri Canal in Khairpur which was allocated for Bilawal Bhutto Park, whereas High Court has conducted ban on construction work on the same land; Steps taken by the Government in this regard?

4.  CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 04 OF 2017;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MS. RANA ANSAR, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Irrigation, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that the trees planted for the protection of banks (bands) are being cut with full swing; the authority with whose orders said cutting is being done; and why; steps taken by the Government in this regard?

5.  CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 08 OF 2017;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MR. JAMAL AHMED, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Local Government, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that there is acute shortage of water in my constituency PS-101, kindly take immediate measurements; people are in very much trouble, the staff of KW&SB is not co-operating in this regard?

6.  CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 10 OF 2017;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MR. KAMRAN AKHTER, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Local Government, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that in the Karachi City Six Thousand illegal Buildings are constructed. In this connection these buildings are falling down day by day. The Director General (SBCA) and other officers of this Department are involved in construction of these illegal buildings. Legal action may please be taken against the concerned officers by the Government?

7.  CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 09 OF 2017;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MS. NUSRAT BANO SEHER ABBASI, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Zakat & Ushr, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that the Chairman of Sindh Zakat Council Mr. Justice (Rtd.) Zahid Qurban Alvi has completed 4 years tenure, reasons of not appointing a new Chairman, while his application to extend his tenure for the 5^th time has been rejected whether it is not the violation of rules, explain please?

8.  CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 03 OF 2017;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MR. SAIFUDDIN KHALID, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Local Government, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that the reasons of closure of Al-Hamra Pumping Station of Sector 11½ Orangi Town?

Summary of Proceedings

Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Thursday, the 27^th July, 2017 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Mr. Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Minister for Food and Parliamentary Affairs, Sindh:-

“This House strongly condemns the inhuman act of rape with 13 years old girl in Rajanpur, Multan Punjab. The more pathetic was the Jirga decided such an ugly act for that girl as a punishment. We demand that culprits should be punished strictly.”.

*1977. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Excise & Taxation be pleased to state:-

(a)     Number of drug/heroin paddlers arrested in district Dadu during 2009 to 2013;

(b)     Is it a fact that the menace of narcotics is spreading there rapidly;

(c)     If answer to (b) above is affirmative, the steps taken by the government in this regard?

ANSWER

MR. MUKESH KUMAR CHAWLA, Minister for Excise & Taxation:

     (a)      24 drug/heroin paddlers arrested in district Dadu during the year 2009 to 2013. The details are as under:-

     (b)      No. the menace of narcotics is not spreading in district Dadu rapidly. The department is vigilant which is evident from the number of cases registered as mentioned above.

     (c)      However, directions have been issued to the concerned authorities to keep vigilant eye upon the said area and take strict action if such activities are noticed there.

*1995. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Excise & Taxation be pleased to state:-

(a)     Is it fact that menace of drugs is spreading in the province;

(b)     If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the district-wise detail thereof?

ANSWER

MR. MUKESH KUMAR CHAWLA, Minister for Excise & Taxation:

No. it is not a fact that menace of drugs is spreading in the province. The Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department is very much aware of the issue and utilizes all available resources and takes all possible measures to eradicate the menace of narcotics from the society from its limited man powers/sources/resources.

*3412. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Excise & Taxation be pleased to state:-

(a)     Is it a fact that luxury tax on vehicles is collected by the department;

(b)     If answer to (a) above is affirmative, vehicles on which the same is collected along with rate of tax on each vehicle as well as amount of such tax collected during 2009 to 2013?

ANSWER

MR. MUKESH KUMAR CHAWLA, Minister for Excise & Taxation:

     (a)      Yes, the luxury tax on imported and local vehicles is collected by the Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department, Sindh at the time of registration.

     (b)      The categories of vehicles alongwith rate of tax on each vehicles as well as amount of such tax collected during 2009 to 2013 are as under:-
