*1991. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Food be pleased to state:-
Rate of per 40 Kg wheat flour and names of flour mills running and quantity of wheat procured by the Sindh government as well as wheat provided to each flour mill during the year 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 in Sindh?
ANSWER
MR. NISAR AHMED KHUHRO, Senior Minister for Food:
The rate of wheat flour per 40 kgs alongwith names of running flour mills and quantity of wheat procured by the Sindh Government as well as wheat provided to each flour mill in the year 2010 to 2013 is at Annexure, placed on the Table of the House.
*2286. MR. KHURRAM SHER ZAMAN: Will the Minister for Food be pleased to state:-
District-wise number, name and grade of persons appointed in Food department during 01-01-2012 to 31-08-2013 along with criteria followed for their selection?
ANSWER
MR. NISAR AHMED KHUHRO, Senior Minister for Food:
The details of district-wise number, name and grade of persons who appointed in Food department during 01-01-2012 to 31-08-2013 alongwith criteria for their selection is at Annexure, placed on the Table of the House.
*4262. MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Food be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that 294992 bags of wheat have been spoiled in the province and the same will be auctioned through bid;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?
ANSWER
MR. NISAR AHMED KHUHRO, Senior Minister for Food:
(a) The actual position is that 181,080 number of Jute bags were spoiled. The same were damaged/weavilized due to heavy rain/flood in the year 2011. The said stocks were auctioned through high powered Committee constituted by the Honourable Chief Minister Sindh through open bids.

*4366. MS. NAILA MUNIR: Will the Minister for Food be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that 15000 wheat bags were illegally stored in April, 2014;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, action taken in this regard?
ANSWER
MR. NISAR AHMED KHUHRO, Senior Minister for Food:
(a) The reply is in negative.
No any wheat bags were illegally stored in April, 2014.
(b) Since answer (a) is negative. So no question arises of any action.
*4514. MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Food be pleased to state:-
(a) Capacity of storage of wheat in Setharja Godown, district Khairpur;
(b) Is it a fact that the same is in very deplorable condition and contractors have left work incomplete;
(c) If answer to (b) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?
ANSWER
MR. NISAR AHMED KHUHRO, Senior Minister for Food:
(a) The capacity of wheat in Setharja Godown is 12,345 M.Tons.
· There are (09) nine units at PRC Setharja.
· There is also open space where 50,000 wheat bags can be stored besides two Pacca Plinths for storage of 5000 wheat bags have been completed and (03) three are under progress.
(b) The Government of Sindh, through a ADP scheme No.564, allocated an amount of Rs.146.434 million for rehabilitation/renovation of existing godowns in Sindh out of the above allocation an amount of Rs.102.260 million spent and remaining scope of work will be completed through allocation of budget.
· Apart from above, during the current financial year a scheme of construction of Pacca Plinth across the province has also started with the allocation of Rs.680.00 million will certainly raise the storage of the Department.
