*347. MS. SAIRA SHAHLIANI: Will the Minister for Culture & Tourism be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that PITHM is a semi-autonomous institute;
(b) If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, reasons why Secretary, Tourism has occupied rooms in it?
ANSWER
SYED SARDAR ALI SHAH, Minister for Culture & Tourism:
(a) Pakistan Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management (PITHM) is semi-autonomous institute devolved from Federal Government to Provincial Government of Sindh dated 31st March 2011 under 18th constitution amendment.
At present this institute is working under the administrative control of Culture, Tourism & Antiquities Department, Government of Sindh, having its own Board of Governors (BoG), representing private and public sectors. The Minister and Secretary Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Department are the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of Board, respectively.
(b) The Secretary Tourism Department is not occupying room in the premises of the institute.
*863. DR. MUHAMMAD RAFIQUE BANBHAN: Will the Minister for Culture & Tourism be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that due to non-availability of recreation facilities at tourist point Keenjhar Lake, the visitors face hardships;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the facilities provided there?
ANSWER
SYED SARDAR ALI SHAH, Minister for Culture & Tourism:
(a) No. Keenjhar lake itself is a recreational destination studded with several facilities. So far no complaint has been received from visitors regarding any hardship being faced by them.
(b) Following facilities are available for tourists at the Keenjhar lake.
I. Extension of accommodation
New 6 rooms have been added to already existing 24 huts.
II. Rescue Center and Medical Aid
A rescue center with Medical officer and an ambulance is providing 24 hours medical and rescue services to the visitors.
III. Rescue platform
A rescue platform (Jetty) is being constructed to provide the visitors rescue facilities in emergency.
IV. Construction of Reception
To provide better facilities to the tourists a proper reception at various entrance gates has been constructed.
V. Facilities for Staff
Manager’s office with residence and guard rooms are under construction.
VI. Improvement of Landscape and Children Park
To improve landscape lawns, playground and children park have been developed.
VII. Besides swimming, boating and fishing facilities are also available.
VIII. One restaurant is also functioning.

(a) Is it a fact that the government has decided to construct a modern rest house consisting of 20 rooms at Garhi Khuda Bux, Larkana;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?
ANSWER
SYED SARDAR ALI SHAH, Minister for Culture & Tourism:
The scheme entitled Construction of Motel/Hotel at Garhi Khua Bux Bhutto Larkana at an estimated cost of Rs.119.641 (M) has been started. An amount of Rs.79.768 (M) has been utilized upto June 2015. The scheme is included in the ADP 2015-16 with an allocation of Rs.10.000 (M). The work at site is in progress. The scheme is being executed by the Works & Services Department.

Number of rest houses established at Keenjhar lake as well as the annual income of the same during 2009 to 2013?
ANSWER
SYED SARDAR ALI SHAH, Minister for Culture & Tourism:
The Sindh Tourism Development Corporation (STDC) Culture & Tourism Department, Sindh owns 24 huts at Keenjhar lake resort.
A. The rate of the huts on weekend / Holidays during 2009 to June 2012 are as under:
08 nos. Super Deluxe Huts @ Rs.3000 each (for 24 Hours)
16 nos. Deluxe Huts @ Rs.1500 each (for 24 Hours)
The rate of the huts discounted on weekdays are as under:-
08 nos. Super Deluxe Huts @ Rs.2100 each (for 24 Hours)
16 nos. Deluxe Huts @ Rs.1150 each (for 24 Hours)
B. The enhanced rate of the Huts from July 2012 to date on weekend/Holidays are as under:-
08 nos. Super Deluxe Huts @ Rs.6000 each (for 24 Hours)
16 nos. Deluxe Huts @ Rs.4000 each (for 24 Hours)

(a) Is it a fact that work of compound wall of Faiz Palace, Khairpur is ongoing;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the present position of the same?
ANSWER
SYED SARDAR ALI SHAH, Minister for Culture & Tourism:
(a) It is a fact that for the work of compound wall of Faiz Palace, Khairpur a scheme amounting to cost of Rs.20.849 (M) was approved in the meeting of DDWP held on 01-10-2012.
(b) The sponsoring executing agency had approached to the concerned property owner to carry out work at site. The owner of the property is not willing to handover site for execution. The Culture, Tourism & Antiquities Department has therefore decided that the scheme may be dropped.
