(a)   Is it a fact that the jobs have been provided in the department during 01-01-2010 to

31-08-2013;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, grade-wise details thereof?

 ANSWER

SARDAR MUHAMMAD BUX KHAN MAHAR, Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs:

Yes. In all seven (07) jobs have been provided in Directorate of Youth Affairs, Sports & Youth Affairs Department during the period 01-01-2010 to 31-08-2013.

 *3797. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Sports be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that Makli cricket stadium is deteriorating due to negligence of administration;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, funds allocated for its repair and number of employees working therein?

 ANSWER

SARDAR MUHAMMAD BUX KHAN MAHAR, Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs:

    (a)      Makli Cricket Stadium is owned by the Pakistan Cricket Board and is operating it with its staff. The condition of cricket stadium has deteriorated. The matter will be taken up with PCB for its repair/maintenance and up-gradation.

    (b)      No fund has been allocated to Makli Stadium for the reason that financially PCB on their own is a sound organization unlike Pakistan Hockey Federation or other Sports Bodies like Squash, Boxing etc.

 *3876. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Sports be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that crores of rupees spent on Jahangir Khan Complex, Karachi are feared to be wasted down;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?

 ANSWER

SARDAR MUHAMMAD BUX KHAN MAHAR, Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs:

Jahangir Khan Complex Karachi, is being raised/constructed on Kashmir Road, Karachi on the land owned by Pakistan International Airlines. As informed by Mr. Jahangir Khan this complex is to house 04 (four) Squash Courts and 03 (Three) Long Tennis Courts. He further informed that it is being financed by private sector.

In short Government of Sindh has nothing to do with Complex in question.

 *4349. DR. SEEMA ZIA: Will the Minister for Sports be pleased to state:-

(a)      Is it a fact that women have also been playing cricket and performed on international level;

(b)      If answer to (a) above is affirmative, kind of coaching facilities provided to promote them alongwith detail of tournaments planned for them during 2014-2015?

ANSWER

SARDAR MUHAMMAD BUX KHAN MAHAR, Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs:

The question asked by the learned MPA pertains to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)/Pakistan Sports Board Islamabad (PSB) as such no information for Women’s Cricket is available at the Provincial Sports Board and all affairs are dealt by the above Boards directly.
