Year in which Benazir Women Support Program started under Social Welfare department with its aims and objects and year in which the same closed with reasons of its closure?
ANSWER
MS. SHAMIM MUMTAZ, Minister for Social Welfare:
It is submitted that the question does not pertain with Social Welfare Department. Benazir Women Support Program was never started under the Social Welfare Department.

Number of institutions for disabled persons working in the province as well as budget earmarked for the same during 2009 to 2013?
ANSWER

The following 18 Rehabilitation Centers for disabled persons are working in the province of Sindh out of which 13 centers for children and 5 centers for adults details are as under:-

Allocation of budget for the each center is Rs.60,00,000/- annually.
*3703. MS. NAILA MUNIR: Will the Minister for Social Welfare be pleased to state:-
Number of incidents of torture on domestic child workers reported during 2010 to 2014 in the province along with number of children died?
ANSWER
MS. SHAMIM MUMTAZ, Minister for Social Welfare:
It is submitted that no case has been reported in Child Protection Unit of Social Welfare Department during the said period.
*4297. DR. SOHRAB KHAN SARKI: Will the Minister for Social Welfare be pleased to state:-
Number of centers of Social Welfare exist in district Jacobabad along with their functions as well as number of employees working in the said district?
ANSWER
MS. SHAMIM MUMTAZ, Minister for Social Welfare:
The following 6 centers of Social Welfare Department exist in District Jacobabad wherein 10 officers and 56 officials are working in the said district.
1. Rehabilitation Center for Multiple Handicapped Children.
2. Community Development Center.
3. Women Welfare Center (3 units) one each in Taluka Jacobabad, Gari Khairo and Thull.
4. Darul Aman, Jacobabad, the construction work of the building was started during 2012 with cost of Rs.34.9701 (M) which is under construction as yet.
*4674. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Social Welfare be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that 3 women escaped from Larkana Darul-Aman on 1st July, 2014;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details and reasons thereof?
ANSWER
MS. SHAMIM MUMTAZ, Minister for Social Welfare:
Yes, an incident took place at Darul Aman Larkana on 1st July, 2014 in which 3 inmates namely Nusrat Buladi, Nooran Chandio and Muskan Shaikh were escaped by cutting the iron grill of window fixed in main hall of the institution.
An FIR No.88/2014 was registered on very day with Police Station Waleed Larkana wherein 2 officials namely Ata Muhammad and Allah Bux, Chowkidar were nominated as accused but the concerned Police Station produced challan before the Honourable Court of Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate-II Larkana. After hearing of all accused exonerated by Honourable Court on 10.08.2016 while the concerned Police failed to recover any inmates so far (copy of Criminal case No.42 of 2016 and FIR is at Annexure, placed on the Table of the House).
*4853. MR. MUHAMMAD DILAWAR QURESHI: Will the Minister for Social Welfare be pleased to state:-
Procedure/criteria to provide shelter to women in Dar-ul-Aman alongwith detail of facilities being provided to them?
ANSWER
MS. SHAMIM MUMTAZ, Minister for Social Welfare:
The procedure/criteria for admission of women in Darul Aman is that those destitute women whose cases are under trial in the court of law and referred to Social Welfare Department for shelter in Darul Aman or those women have no shelter due to family disputes and some other reasons is provided shelter to them in Darul Aman.
The following facilities are being provided to the women in Darul Aman:
1. Lodging & Boarding.
2. Different skill training who make good use of their stay of Darul Aman and to earn for their livelihood after discharging Darul Aman.
3. Reconciling with their families.
4. Religious education, Adult literacy/Basic education to illiterate women.
5. Medical facilities.
6. Transportation to attend the Court of Law.
