*1222. MR. REHAN ZAFAR: Will the Minister for Livestock be pleased to state:-
Number of veterinary doctors appointed through Sindh Public Service Commission during last 10 years along with the number of veterinary doctors pass out every year in the province?
ANSWER
MR. MUHAMMAD ALI MALKANI, Minister for Livestock:
1) 113 (One Hundred and Thirteen) Veterinary Officers have been appointed through Sindh Public Service Commission in Animal Husbandry and Poultry Wings of Livestock and Fisheries Department during last 10 years.
2) Sindh Public Service Commission has recommended 12 Veterinary Officers for appointment, on the recommendation of Sindh Public Service Commission. The offer letters has been issued, but due to decision of Hon’ble Supreme Court of Pakistan the process of appointment is temporary halted till the decision of Hon’ble Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The requisite information regarding number of Veterinary Doctors pass out from the University may be asked from the concerned Department i.e. Secretary Universities, Chief Minister Secretariat, Karachi.

District-wise details of animal hospitals and dispensaries working in the province along with staff sanctioned/working at each hospital/dispensary?

Location-wise number of departments working for research of animals and to prevent them from diseases?
ANSWER
MR. MUHAMMAD ALI MALKANI, Minister for Livestock:
Yes.
There are two Research Institutes working for animals and Cattle, Buffaloes, Sheep, Goat and for Poultry birds, separately at Karachi and Tandojam
1. Directorate of Poultry Production & Research Sindh Karachi.
2. Directorate of Veterinary Research & Diagnosis Laboratory Sindh Tandojam.
*2699. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Livestock be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that steps are being taken to introduce bio-gas technology to large cattle farms of the province;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?
ANSWER
MR. MUHAMMAD ALI MALKANI, Minister for Livestock:
(a) Yes.
(b) The Scheme “Installation of Bio-gas Plants in Sindh” has been included in ADP 2016-17 with a total cost of Rs.60.00 million. The scheme will be launched in three locations viz Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur as a pilot districts. The scheme is yet unapproved. The Energy Department has been approached for expertisation and technical assistance to launch the scheme smoothly. No expenditure incurred upto date.
*3050. MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Livestock be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that a project namely Cocasheep was started in ADP program of 2008-12;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, how much the same was implemented?
ANSWER
MR. MUHAMMAD ALI MALKANI, Minister for Livestock:
(a) Yes.
(b) i) The scheme establishment of Kooka Sheep Farm at Rohri was approved at cost of Rs.52.167(M) for the period from 2005-06 to 2009-10. Total expenditure was incurred at Rs.46.428(M).
ii) The scheme was not completed due to incomplete civil work. In floods of 2010-11 IDP’s had occupied the buildings of Kooka Sheep Farm, they damaged buildings by removing windows and doors.
iii) On 21-05-2012 out of 93 acres land reserved for Kooka Sheep 30 acres land has been allocated for Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Town by the Revenue Department. Now around 100 Kooka Sheeps are stationed at Kundhi Farm Rohri.
