There are so many posts of Medical Officer, Gynecologist General Surgeon etc lying vacant in Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas steps taken by the Government?

 136.   Will the Minister for Health be pleased to state:-

Is it fact that the number of HIV patients is reached at 1400 registered in Larkana; if so, explain thereof?

 *1140.MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Health be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that medico-legal department of most government hospitals in Karachi is non-functional post mortem facility is also not available and various posts of officers are lying vacant;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?

 ANSWER

DR. SIKANDAR ALI MANDHRO, Minister for Health:

(a)      Total 09 medico-legal centers are established by Health department, Government of Sindh.

Out of which following 04 centers are perfectly functional round the clock with proper facility of post mortem examination, rape cases, medico-legal examination and issuance of medico-legal certificates to injured persons.

1). Civil hospital, Karachi, 2). Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Center, Karachi, 3). Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Karachi, 4). Sindh Government Qatar Hospital, Orangi Town, Karachi.

Whereas, in rest of following 05 centers medico-legal examination is carried out and certificates are being issued. However, post mortem examination is not being done as mortuaries have not yet been established in these centers.

1). SGH New Karachi, 2). SGH Saudabad Karachi, 3). SGH Korangi-5, Karachi, 4). SGH Liaqatabad, Karachi, 5). SG Lyari General Hospital, Karachi.

The following is the sanctioned/filled and vacancy position of medico-legal centers of Karachi.

District-wise number of Peoples Primary Health Centers working in the province along with number of staff and doctors working therein?

 ANSWER

          The requisite information is as under:-

District-wise name of Civil Hospitals in the province where Mammography machines are available?

 ANSWER

DR. SIKANDAR ALI MANDHRO, Minister for Health:

The Mammography machine is available in following health facilities of the province:

1.    Civil Hospital, District South, Karachi.

2.    Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Center, District South, Karachi.

3.    Sindh Government Lyari General Hospital, District South, Karachi.

4.    Sindh Government Hospital, Liaqatabad, District Central, Karachi.

5.    Liaquat University Hospital, District Hyderabad.

6.    Mobile Mammography is being done by NIMRA, Jamshoro.

(a)   Is it a fact that medicines of millions of rupees could not be provided to poor people and the same has been expired in district Thatta;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?

 ANSWER

DR. SIKANDAR ALI MANDHRO, Minister for Health:

(a)      No. it is not fact.

In fact sufficient stock of medicine is readily available in the district and there are no expired medicines.

(b)      No applicable.

Number and name of Hospitals in Sindh where Mammography machines are available to diagnose the patients of breast cancer as well as number of machines working there?

 ANSWER

DR. SIKANDAR ALI MANDHRO, Minister for Health:

District-wise number of mammography machines available in the province are mentioned here as under:-

Number of children suffered and died of measles during 2014 in Hyderabad?

ANSWER

DR. SIKANDAR ALI MANDHRO, Minister for Health:

34 children suffered from Measles during 2014 in Hyderabad. Whereas, no death is reported during the said period.

District-wise number of Psychological Hospitals in Sindh?

 ANSWER

DR. SIKANDAR ALI MANDHRO, Minister for Health:

Only one Psychological Hospital namely “Sir C.J Institute of Psychiatry” exist in district Hyderabad. Whereas, in rest of hospitals of the province either Psychiatry wards are established or Psychiatry OPD is being run on daily basis.

 *4512.MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Health be pleased to state:-

(a)      Is it a fact that supply of vaccine of dog and snake bite has been stopped by the department and ordered the hospitals to purchase the same from open market;

(b)      If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?

 ANSWER

DR. SIKANDAR ALI MANDHRO, Minister for Health:

(a)      The Government has implemented “Central Rate Contract System” through which all District Health Officers / Incharges of Health facilities and health institutions have been made competent for purchasing all medicines including Anti-Rabies Vaccine (ARV for dog bite) and Anti-Snake Venom (ASV for snake bite) without intimation and prior permission of superior office. However, a specific procedure is followed while purchasing medicines and vaccines.
