Number of cities/districts of the province for which the development packages were placed and how much the same was implemented?

ANSWER

MIR HAZAR KHAN BIJARANI, Minister for Planning & Development:

          Initially 7 cities/districts packages were started in the year 2013-2014 in which 98 schemes approved for which Rs.4362.893 million were released (Annexure, placed on the Table of the House)

 *757. MR. NISHAT MUHAMMAD ZIA QADRI: Will the Minister for Planning & Development be pleased to state:-

(a)   District-wise number of people presently living below the poverty line in rural areas;

(b)   Is it a fact that government intends to provide incentives/packages to improve their standard of life;

(c)    If answer to (b) above be in the affirmative, the details thereof?

 ANSWER

MIR HAZAR KHAN BIJARANI, Minister for Planning & Development:

(a)      As per Development Statistics Sindh 2011, 11,549,110 peoples were living below the poverty line in rural areas district-wise figures are at Annexure-I, placed on the Table of the House.

(b)      Yes.

(c)      Government is supporting the people living below poverty line through Union Council Based Poverty Reduction Program (UCBPRP), having different interventions, mainly, interest free loans for livelihood, vocational training, low cost housing and drinking water facilities etc. in four districts i.e. Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Kashmore and Tharparkar details at (Annexure-II, placed on the Table of the House). In addition, Government of Sindh allocated Rs.400 million to expand this program in six districts namely Badin, Umerkot, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Thatta and Khairpur in ADP 2013-2014 and the scheme is still in ADP 2015-16 with an allocation of Rs.1300.00 million (Annexure-III, placed on the Table of the House).

 *1432. MS. NAILA MUNIR: Will the Minister for Planning & Development be pleased to state:-

District-wise number of villages provided electricity by the planning and development department during 1st July 2009 to 30th July 2011?

 ANSWER

MIR HAZAR KHAN BIJARANI, Minister for Planning & Development:

District-wise details of villages, which have been provided electricity during period 1st July 2009 to 30th July 2011 are placed at (Annexure, placed on the Table of the House).

 *1433. MS. NAILA MUNIR: Will the Minister for Planning & Development be pleased to state:-

Number of new schemes allocated during 2011-2012 along with detail of the schemes completed upto 30-06-2012?

 ANSWER

MIR HAZAR KHAN BIJARANI, Minister for Planning & Development:

Out of 493 new schemes which were included in the ADP 2011-12, 36 were completed upto 30-06-2012. (Sector-wise/department position of schemes is at Annexure, placed on the Table of the House.

 *2135.MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Planning & Development be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that the government has announced to complete 293 development projects upto December, 2013 in the province;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the district-wise details thereof including the cost of the same?

 ANSWER

MIR HAZAR KHAN BIJARANI, Minister for Planning & Development:

(a)      No. The Administrative departments had completed 152 schemes in December 2013.
