These illegal marriage halls have been constructed in residential area which is causing difficulties for the residents. KBCA has not taken any action against these illegal marriage halls so far?

 

4.  CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 10 OF 2017;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY SYED AMIR HYDER SHAH SHEERAZI, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Works & Services, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that a flyover Dulha Darya Khan between district Thatta and Sujawal has been completed but it is not yet been started which is causing problems for the public; reasons thereof?

 

5.  CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 05 OF 2017;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MS. HEER SOHO, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Public Health Engineering, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that the drainage system of Ward No. 4, Thatta city has been totally damaged, causing citizen severe difficulties. It has become even more difficult now. (no repair work of drainage system has been carried out for the last 10 years).

*194. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Prisons be pleased to state:-

(a)      Is it a fact that the annual budget for the facilities to be provided to prisoners under the Jail Manual is fixed in lump sum irrespective of number of prisoners actually in custody;

(b)      If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?

ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH, (Chief Minister) Minister for Prisons:

(a)      Annual budget for all other facilities is fixed except dietary items. The budget for the diet of the inmates is variable is variable as per population of the prisoners.

(b)

Budget allocation/released head under Dietary charges. Actual expenditure incurred upto 30.06.2013 on account of cooked food supplied inmates @ the average rate of Rs.139/97 per prisoner per day

Rs. 489,267,750/-

Actual expenditure incurred upto 30.11.2013 on account of cooked food supplied to inmates @ the average rate of Rs.144/23 per prisoner per day.

 

Rs. 418,025,315/-

 The additional funds under head dietary for incurring expenditure upto 30.06.2013 will be demanded by the Government of Sindh Finance Department through final list of excesses and surrender 2013-14.

Following fixed budget is allocated for other facilities/amenities of inmates and procurement is made on yearly contract basis on total prisoners population.

          Purchase of Drug & Medicines                      Rs. 30,445,000/-

          Sanitation for purchase of sanitary items      Rs. 2,425,000/-

          Other Bedding and furniture                        Rs. 25,000,000/-

 

*477. MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Prisons be pleased to state:-

Year/jail-wise number of new vehicles purchased for prisoners to attend court hearings during 2008-13?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH, (Chief Minister) Minister for Prisons:

No vehicle has been purchased for prisoners to attend court hearings during 2008-13. Therefore, report may please be treated as NIL.

 *779.MS. SUMETA AFZAL SYED: Will the Minister for Prisons be pleased to state:-

District-wise number of women convicted with crime during 2011-13 and are serving time in jail along with the number of children accompany them?

Number of prisoners died in different jails throughout Sindh during last three years along with the reasons of their death?

                                                                  ANSWER                    

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH, (Chief Minister) Minister for Prisons:

104 prisoners died in the prisons of Sindh province during last three years. The details of such prisoners in different jails is at Annexure, placed on the Table of the House.

 *2282. MR. NAND KUMAR GOKLANI: Will the Minister for Prisons be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that a number of prisoners aged 75 years and above are imprisoned at Central Jail, Karachi and Hyderabad;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?

                                                                           ANSWER                    

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH, (Chief Minister) Minister for Prisons:

There are 4 (four) prisoners of the age of 75 years and above are confined in Central Prison Karachi and Hyderabad.

The above prisoners are convicted in heinous offence like kidnapping, murder and serving their sentences in the above prisons.
