It is pertinent that storm drains (Nallas) be cleaned and it possible only when canals are at low level to escape from Monsoon rains problem. As now canals are at low level but there is no planning on the ground whether is any intention to carry out the cleaning of Nallas?

Buildings for 40 U.Cs are not available out of 68 U.Cs in district Badin and 10 buildings are in deplorable condition and also staff here not been posted at various offices as yet; what steps have been taken in this regard?

 92.     Will the Minister for Local Government be pleased to state:-

Sakhi Hassan grave yard has been completely filled, but grave-diggers continue funerals and they are charging funeral fees on their own, public be notified the actual charges, and another place be allocated for grave yard, to make funeral easy?


 

*299. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Local Government be pleased to state:-

(a)      Is it a fact that more than 70 buildings have been declared deplorable in Hyderabad;

(b)      If answer to (a) above be in affirmative, the details thereof along with the steps taken by the government in this regard?

ANSWER

MR. JAM KHAN SHORO, Minister for Local Government:

(a)      Yes.

(b)      The Regional Office, SBCA, Hyderabad, has conducted survey prior to monsoon-2013 to identify dangerous buildings/structure belonging to Hyderabad Region and there after ninety eight (98) buildings have been declared deplorable/dangerous in Hyderabad. The details of these buildings are at Annexure, placed on the table of the House.

The Technical Committee for dangerous buildings conducted site inspection of twenty five (25) buildings, which are already declared dangerous/dilapidated and decided to demolish these buildings in the interest of life and safety. The three buildings have been demolished. The rest of the buildings are under process of demolition.

The Regional Office, SBCA, Hyderabad, intends to demolish the declared dangerous buildings in the best interest of public but due to non-cooperation of District Administration, Police and Court litigation, it is unable to take timely action.

 *1158. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Local Government be pleased to state:-

(a)      Is it a fact that 40 fake names have been included in the pay bills of employees of education department of KMC;

(b)      If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the person responsible for it along with the action taken against him?

 ANSWER

MR. JAM KHAN SHORO, Minister for Local Government:

According to available record of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, no fake name is included in the pay bills of employees of Education Department of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation.

However, if such list provided, the matter can be further verified.

 

*1164. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Local Government be pleased to state:-

(a)      Is it a fact that the government has decided to construct 800 public toilets at 200 locations in Karachi;

(b)      If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the location-wise details including the cost of the project?

 ANSWER

MR. JAM KHAN SHORO, Minister for Local Government:

(a)      Yes. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has decided to construct 800 public toilets at 200 various locations in the city. The construction work will be carried out through Citizen Police Liasion Committee with the coordination of District Municipal Corporation concerned.

(b)      Location-wise details is attached at Annexure, placed on the Table of the House.
