 *449. MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Mines & Minerals Development be pleased to state:-

(a)      Is it a fact that the government has started work to establish a Central Rescue Station at Tharparkar;

(b)      If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, the details thereof including the amount to be spent on the same?

          ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH, (Chief Minister) Minister for Mines & Minerals Development:

Yes, the Department has started to establish Central Rescue Station at Thario Halepota (Islamkot) District Tharparkar under ADP Scheme No. 1249 approved during the year 2006 with the following objective & functions.

(i)   To provide rescue operation at the time of any mishap at mine(s) for the recovery of men and material.

(ii)  To provide rescue training to 500 mine personnel annually so that they can meet the challenges of rescue operation at their mines.

(iii)    To develop sense of safe working in mine workers.

 The initial cost of the scheme was Rs.113.431 million (Cap: 27.340, Rev: 86.091). The amount of Rs.75.650 million has been spent on the capital & revenue side so far, and the scheme is under revision at the cost of Rs.179.006 million (Cap:51.950, 127.056).

Meanwhile, the scheme was transferred from M&MMD to C&EDD by the Honorable Chief Minister, Sindh on 12-10-2011. Subsequently M&MMD resubmitted the summary for Chief Minister, Sindh on 29-11-2011 and again on 24-07-2013 for review of his decision and the same is pending for decision of the Honorable Chief Minister, Sindh              

*450. MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Mines & Minerals Development be pleased to state:-

(a)      Is it a fact that the government has allocated a scheme to construct 30 K.M road from Veer Wah to Gorah in Tharparkar;

(b)      If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, how much the same has been implemented?

          ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH, (Chief Minister) Minister for Mines & Minerals Development:

It is a fact that the Government has allocated the scheme titled as “Construction of 30 kms road from Virwah to Churio Nagarparkar” for Mines and Mineral Development Department. The scheme was prepared by C&W department and PC-I was also submitted to P&D department but it was dropped and not reflected in the ADP 2015-16.

 *759. MR. NISHAT MUHAMMAD ZIA QADRI: Will the Minister for Mines & Minerals Development be pleased to state:-

          Revenue received from mining leases during 01-07-2012 to 30-06-2013?

          ANSWER

It is submitted that the revenue of Rs.34,34,33,933/- (Three Hundred Forty Three Million, Four Hundred Thirty Three Thousand & Nine Hundred Thirty Three) only has been received during 01-07-2012 to 30-06-2013.

 *1069.MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Mines & Minerals Development be pleased to state:-

(a)      Area of land of Karoonjhar where granite is found;

(b)      Is it a fact that the same has been given on lease;

(c)      If answer to (b) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

 ANSWER

(a)      The total area of Karoonjhar Hills is about 25000 acres out of this 6410.2 acres have been granted on lease.

(b)      It is fact that the same has been given on lease to the interested parties.

(c)      It is submitted that Directorate General Mines & Minerals Development has granted (10) mining permits at Karoonjhar Hills over an area of 6410.2 acres to different parties. Details are at Annexure, placed on the Table of the House.

 *2213.MR. KHURRAM SHER ZAMAN: Will the Minister for Mines & Minerals Development be pleased to state:-

(a)      Quantity of coal available in district Dadu, Jamshoro, Thatta and Badin along with other minerals found in the same districts;

(b)      Whether the same is being utilized;

(c)      If answer to (b) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

 ANSWER

(a)      It is to state that the minerals are found/available in district Dadu Jamshoro and Thatta which are as follows, Bentonite, Celestite, Chalk, Clay, Shale clay, Lake salt, Laterite, Limestone, Marble, Mouram, Ordinary sand, Red Ochre, Reti/Bajri, Silica sand, Fullers earth and Sandstone.

(b)      The same minerals are being utilized.

(c)      Minerals are found in district Dadu, Jamshoro and Thatta. The Directorate General Mines and Mineral Development has granted concession in these districts, the details are given below:-

Number of posts filled in Mines and Minerals department on urban quota during 01-01-2008 to 15-03-2013 along with name, post, BPS and domicile of each employee?

Mines and Minerals Development Department, Government of Sindh comprising of two attached offices viz Directorate General Mines and Mineral Development & Inspectorate of Mines. Details of posts filled by these offices are placed at Annexure, placed on the Table of the House.

 *2940.MR. SHIRAZ WAHEED: Will the Minister for Mines & Minerals Development be pleased to state:-

District-wise revenue earned from auction of Royalty Rights on all types of surface minerals during 01-07-2006 to 31-12-2009?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH, (Chief Minister) Minister for Mines & Minerals Development:

It is to state that the royalty rights on surface minerals viz (aggregate stone, Reti/Bajri, Gravel, Ordinary Stone, Ordinary sand, Limestone, Mouram, Marble & Silica sand) are being auctioned district-wise on year to year basis in terms of Rule 98(5) of Sindh Mining Concession Rules 2002, the royalty earned on account of auction of surface minerals is being deposited into relevant Head of Account No. “C-03808 other receipts under the Mines, Oil fields and Mineral Development, Sindh” prescribed by Finance Department, Government of Sindh.

Further, Government of Sindh has constituted price fixation Committee vide Notification dated 28.04.2005 attached as Annexure-I, placed on the Table of the House. The Chairman of the committee is Secretary, Mines & Minerals Development Department, who convene the meeting every year in order to fix the reserve price. Thereafter, the public notice is made through the auction notice in the leading newspapers for conducting the auction.

The details of revenue earned from the account of auction of surface minerals attached as Annexure-II, placed on the Table of the House.
