 118.   Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to state:-

Is it fact that according to report of Auditor General of Pakistan for the financial year 2014-2015 irregularities of Approx 2 billion rupees have been committed in Energy Department, if so, the reasons thereof either responsibilities fixed or action taken against involved persons and steps taken to restrain such irregularities in future with details?

 

*1620. MS. HEER SOHO : Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to state:-

(a)      Is it a fact that any programs have been initiated to construct some new power houses in the province after 18th amendment;

(b)      If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the number of programs running during 2008 to 2013?

 ANSWER

(a)      Yes.

(b)      02x50 MWs Gas based Power Generation Project at Jhampir Road, near Nooriabad Industrial Trading Estate, Nooriabad, district Jamshoro.

01x4.8 MWs run of the River Hydro Power Generation Project at RD-15 Rohri Canal near Sukkur Barrage.

05x20 MWs Solar Power Generation Projects within district Thatta, Jamshoro, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur and Larkana.

02x50 MWs Wind Power Projects under Sindh Renewable Energy Company in 2012.

                  

*2889. MR. KAMRAN AKHTAR : Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to state:-

(a)      Is it a fact that the Government had allocated Rs.48 millions during financial year 2009-10 for international road show;

(b)      If answer to (a) above is affirmative, where the above amount spent along with countries where road show held and the results achieved?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH, (Chief Minister) Minister for Energy:

(a)      Yes. during financial year 2009-10 an amount of Rs.48.444 million was allocated however, the same was revised amounting to Rs.2.5 million for execution of development scheme “Road Show to Attract Potential Investors and International Financing Institutes”.

(b)      An allocation (revised) of Rs.2.5 million was incurred to attend “International Underground Coal Gasification Conference & Workshop” at London, U.K and printing of coal related literature for highlighting of Thar Coal resources to attract the foreign investment.

 

*3429. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI : Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to state:-

Present construction status of Power House project running on imported coal at Keti Bandar along with total cost of the project?

ANSWER

No Power house is under construction by Government of Sindh at Keti Bunder.

(a)      Is it a fact that bids have been invited by the Energy department for construction of Keti Bandar Power House and New Jetty;

(b)      If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH, (Chief Minister) Minister for Energy:

(a)      Yes.

(b)      An expression of interest was invited through national dailies on 12-11-2013 for construction of following facilities:

·         Construction of 2x660 MW power plant.

·         Infrastructure facilities to accommodate 5000 MW at site.

·         Coal and general purpose jetty

·         200+ km rail track and necessary rolling stock between Thar and Keti Bunder with matching facilities.

·         150+ km 500/750 km transmission line from Keti Bunder to Thatta and Jamshoro for power evacuation.

·         Civic amenities such as hospitals, schools/colleges, roads, afforestation etc.

 However, no response received. The department is in process of developing a feasibility study after which the project will again be offered.
