(a)   Is it a fact that Industries & Commerce Department has given Rs. 1000 million to four companies;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, the reasons thereof alongwith the improvement achieved?

 ANSWER

SYED QAIM ALI SHAH JILLANI, (Chief Minister) Industries:

(a)      Yes, it is a fact that under the directive of Honourable, president of Pakistan an amount of   Rs. 1000 million has been given to four Development Companies namely.

(i)       KITE, Development & Management Company.

(ii)      LITE, Development & Management Company.

(iii)    FITE, Development & Management Company.

(iv)     NKI, Development & Management Company.

(b)      The said amount was given for improvement of infrastructure in these Industrial areas. These Development & Management Companies have carried out different Development activities, which include construction of road, footpaths, lying of sewerage lines, construction of nalas, installation of street lights/pools, CCTV’s etc. all these activities have been closely monitored by the Sindh Industrial Infrastructure Board from time to time. Registered Chartered Firms have also audited the accounts of companies which have been approved by the Board.

Detail of Small Industries estate power loom Hyderabad and when this scheme is likely to be started alongwith its aims & objectives?

 ANSWER

SYED QAIM ALI SHAH JILLANI, (Chief Minister) Industries:

A scheme with the name & style, “Small Industrial Estate for Power Looms, Hyderabad” with the estimated cost of Rs. 1337.285 million over an area of 500 acres Land was submitted by the Corporation to the GoS for approval. As per procedure in vogue, the scheme was discussed by the Technical Committee of Planning & Development Department during the financial year 2009-10 wherein it was decided that the scheme should be submitted completed in two phases, in the first phase, PC-I be submitted for acquiring of Land and construction of compound wall whereas in the second phase, PC-I for development works. Corporation has submitted the PC-I for acquiring of land with the estimated cost of           Rs. 716.241 million to the Planning & Development Department.

In order to purchase of land, on the request of Corporation, the DCO Hyderabad has identified 500 acres land located at TM Khan-Molakatiar Road. A summery has also been moved through the A.D. for getting approval from the Honourable Chief Minister Sindh for the allotment of said land in favour of SSIC, which is awaited.

As and when the summary is approved and funds are released by the GoS, the first phase of scheme will be completed within one year and the Corporation will submit PC-I for development works to implement the second phase, for which a period of three years is required. After the completion of development works, the industrial plots would be allotted to the industrialists for power looms, which are spread over the city Hyderabad.
