Number of posts vacant in Day Care Centre, Karachi and sales & Display Resources Centre, Karachi alongwith recruitment procedure/plan?

 

ANSWER

MS. TAUQEER FATIMA BHUTTO, Minister for Women Development:

There is no vacant post in the Day Care Centre, Karachi.

As regards Sales and Display Resource Centre Karachi is concerned, there are eight posts vacant in the Sale & Display Resource Centre, Karachi.

Connection between Women Development Department and district Government with regard to running of Darul Aman facilities?

 

ANSWER

MS. TAUQEER FATIMA BHUTTO, Minister for Women Development:

There is no connection between Women Development Department and Darul Amans. The Women Development Department is not concerned with the facilities so provided by the District Government for running Darul Aman.

 

 

*2432. MR. ARIF MUSTAFA JATOI: Will the Minister for Women Development be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that a Media Centre is being established by the Directorate of Women Development;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in affirmative, rational for the same?

 

ANSWER

MS. TAUQEER FATIMA BHUTTO, Minister for Women Development:

(a)      No, it is not a Centre but it is a Cell established in the Directorate of Women Development Sindh. It was established in the year 2005-06, the following are its objectives:-

(b)      Government has made various commitments signed, convention and charters at national and international level which require continuous media campaign through national and regional languages via electronic and print media by article writing in newspapers, publication of brochures, magazines, dramas on TV channels, documentaries etc. Women issues were also be raised through workshops, conferences and congregations.

*2503. MR. ARIF MUSTAFA JATOI: Will the Minister for Women Development be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that 100 million has been budgeted in 2009-10 for assistance to women through civil society organizations;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, names of organizations approved for funding alongwith amount disbursed to date to each with rational for the payment?

 

ANSWER

MS. TAUQEER FATIMA BHUTTO, Minister for Women Development:

In this connection, it is submitted that the Scheme “Assistance to poor Women victims of violence and atrocities through civil society” is under process of approval of PC-I. No funds have so far been drawn or distributed to any civil society organization.

 

 

*2971. MS. NAHEED BEGUM: Will the Minister for Women Development be pleased to state:-

(a)   Location of the Women Development Office, in Sukkur along with procedure/criteria by whom the relief has been provided to the women by the Department;

(b)   Is it a fact that there exist a Complaint Centre also in Sukkur;

(c)    If answer to (b) above is in affirmative, progress report of the said centre?

 

ANSWER

MS. TAUQEER FATIMA BHUTTO, Minister for Women Development:

(a)      No, there is no Women Development Office in Sukkur.

(b)      Yes, there is Women Complaint Centre at Sukkur which has recently been set upped and is being located at Bungalow No: 743, plot No: 6 A & B Near KFC Restaurant, Military Road, Sukkur.

(c)      The main object of this office are as under:-

(i)       To control violence against women at grass root level by providing awareness to both male and female abut their mutual legitimate rights through seminars, workshops and media campaigns.

(ii)      To provide legal aid to the abused and less privileged women at grass root level.

(iii)    To involve women and community groups in finding solution to the problems of violence against women.

(iv)     Exploring the psychological solution to the problem.

(v)      To motivate abused women to register cases in Court of Law.

Due to non-appointment of Psychologist and Social Worker the centre is being temporarily looked after by some of the Social Workers of Sukkur on voluntarily basis, who provided free legal aid and assistance to women victims of violence. They have dispose-off about 10 cases uptill now details are as under:-
