*1615. MR. ARIF MUSTAFA JATOI: Will the Minister for Food be pleased to state:-

The bank wise over draft limits available to the Department as on 31^st March, 2009 alongwith repayment terms and conditions such as interest rate?

ANSWER

NAWABZADA MIR NADIR ALI KHAN MAGSI, Minister for Food:

(a)       Bank wise over draft limits as 31-03-2009.

The Finance Division has approved C.C Limit Commodity Operations Finance as per their letter No. SMEFD 911 (1)/FB date 6.3.09, in respect of crop 2009 as under:-

(b)       Interest rate of crop: 2009 for the quarter- January, March: 2009.

The Department approved the markup rate for current crop 2009 i.e January 09 to March 09 in favour of commercial bank against the interest rate approved by the Punjab, PASSCO and TCP for the same period as under:-

Total markup paid/charged by the department on wheat trading during the period from 1^st January, 2004 to 31^st December, 2004 and 1^st January, 2008 to 31^st December, 2008?

Markup charged by the commercial banks during the period form 1^st January, 2004 to 31^st December, 2004 and 1^st January, 2008 to 31^st December, 2008 are as under:-

Month wise number of visitors came to the shrine Abdullah Shah Ghazi in at Karachi during the period from 1^st January, 2008 to 30^th April, 2009 along with facilities provided therein for visitors?

ANSWER

MR. ABDUL HASEEB, Minister for Auqaf:

Thousand of Zaireen are visiting Dargah Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi Clifton Karachi.

The visitors are provided with lavatory facilities, Parking facilities, Security arrangements including walk through gates, Security Guards/Supervisor, Lady searchers, free lungur and other facilities.

District wise land held by the department as on 31-05-2009, whether the said land is agricultural or non agricultural?

*2146. MS. HEER ISMAIL SOHO: Will the Minister for Auqaf be pleased to state:-

(a)     Is it a fact that 12 thousand acres land is under the administrative control of Auqaf Department;

(b)     If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, location of the land as well as objectives of its utility?

ANSWER

MR. ABDUL HASEEB, Minister for Auqaf:

(a)       There are 10858-37 acres of land under the Administrative control of Chief Administrator Auqaf.

(b)       Location of different parcels of land are as under:-

AGRICULTURAL LANDS UNDER CONTROL OF AUQAF DEPARTMENT SINDH

The income realized is used in grant of pension/commutation to the retired Auqaf employees, payment of monthly salaries of Auqaf employees, grant in aid to madaris, Financial assistance to poor and widows as well as Development/maintenance work of Mosques/Dargahs and other Waqf properties. Arrangement of Urs, Naat competitions etc.

*2238. MS. HEER ISMAIL SOHO: Will the Minister for Auqaf be pleased to state:-

Total number of madaris exist in the province out of the number of registered madaris alongwith intention of the Government to take action against un-registered madaris?

MR. ABDUL HASEEB, Minister for Auqaf:

The number of Deeni Madaris registered under Section-21 (Amendment Ordinance 2005) of the Societies Registration Act-1860 with effect from 24-08-2005 to 17-10-2009, as provided by Directorate of Industries (Registration Wing) is as under:-

As regards action against un-registered Deeni Madaris, it is stated that Auqaf, Religious Affairs and Zakat & Ushr Department enlists and interacts only with registered Deeni Madaris.

*2289. MS. HEER ISMAIL SOHO: Will the Minister for Food be pleased to state:-

(a)     Is it a fact that sub-standard wheat of rupees 10 billion was purchased from six districts of the province and due to which the Incharges of five godwons were also suspended;

(b)     If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, name of such districts?

It is not a fact that sub-standard wheat of Rs. 10 billion was purchased from six districts of the province hence suspension of Incharges of five godwons does not arise.

*2401. MRS. HUMERA ALWANI: Will the Minister for Auqaf be pleased to state:-

Names of shrines under the administrative control of Sindh Government in District Thatta  as well as amount of donations received during the period from 01-01-2007 to 20-06-2009?

Name of Shrine under the Administrative Control of Sindh Government in District Thatta   as well as amount of donation received during the period from 01-01-2007 to 30-06-2009 are as under:-

(a)     Is it a fact that the Government maintains some madaris of the Province;

(b)     If answer to (a) above is in affirmative, the curriculum being taught at these institutions?

ANSWER

MR. ABDUL HASEEB, Minister for Auqaf:

Auqaf Department is not maintaining any madaris in the Province.

*2475. MS. HEER ISMAIL SOHO: Will the Minister for Food be pleased to state:-

(a)     Is it a fact that due to negligence of officers in Mirpurkhas about 9000 bags of wheat are lying under the open sky resulting fear of being spoiled the wheat;

(b)     If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, the reasons thereof?

ANSWER

NAWABZADA MIR NADIR ALI KHAN MAGSI, Minister for Food:

It is not a fact that in Mirpurkhas about 9000 bags of wheat are lying under the open sky resulting fear of being spoiled. The target of procurement of wheat of Mirpurkhas Region was 240,000 M. Tonnes for the Crop 2008-09. Against this target, the Department procured 256,451 M. Tonnes of wheat. The storage capacity of Mirpurkhas Region is 96,740 M. Tonnes. Additionally, storage requirement was met by hiring of private godwons to ensure safeguard of wheat by tarpaulins and fumigation. There is neither any negligence of officers nor any bags of wheat are being spoiled/damaged in the open sky.

*2737. MS. KULSOOM CHANDIO: Will the Minister for Food be pleased to state:-

Location wise number of flour mills functioning in district Dadu as on 01-04-2009?

It is stated that as on 01-04-2009 there was no flour Mill functioning in District Dadu.
