Rice Stock depots pertains to Federal Government question does not arise.

Repair work carried out at Dargahs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalander, Sachal Sarmast and Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai along with designation-wise staff posted at each dargah?

Repair work of Dargah of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalander, Sachal Sarmat and Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai has been carried out during the year 2007-2008 by the Auqaf Department, the details of which are attached alongwith designation-wise staff posted at each Dargah is at Annexure-I, which is placed on the table of the House.

The amount spent on repair/renovation of each shrine in Sindh during the financial year 2007-2008 with full details are at Annexure-III, which is placed on the table of the House.

District-wise number of Mosques under the administrative control of Auqaf Department as on 01-08-2008 alongwith amount spent on repair/renovation of each Mosque during financial year 2007-2008?

 

ANSWER

MR. ABDUL HASEEB, Minister for Auqaf:

There are 79 mosques in all the districts. No mosques has been repaired/renovated at the expenses of Auqaf Department during the year 2007-2008 (list of Mosques is at Annexure-IV, which is placed on the table of the House).

(b)   Due to wheat procurement process and in order to ensure the verification of procured wheat stocks, the officers working on OPS in different districts were not disturbed and allowed to continue at their place of posting. Subsequently three officers at Sr. No. 4, 5 and 12 have been reverted to their original posts on 27.10.2008.

The other officers are working due to shortfall of officers and requisition for selection/ recommendations has been sent to Sindh Public Service Commission.

(c)    M/s Ashfaque Ali Shah, Hassan Bux Bhutto and Sarang Ram mentioned at Sr. No. 4, 5 and 12 have been reverted to their original posts on 27.10.2008.

*974. MR. NADEEM AHMED BHUTTO: Will the Minister for Food be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that 29, 700 bags of wheat stored at Bolhari (kotri) Godown of the Food Department worth about 4 crore rupees were found damaged recently;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in affirmative, the details and date on which they were found damaged;

(c)    Is it a fact that the said damage was caused due to neglect of the concerned official who had not disposed the bags in time alongwith dates on which the Godown was visited by the Officers/Officials of Food Department during the last 2 years and sent the samples to laboratory for test;

(d)   If answer to (a) and (c) above be in affirmative, what action has been taken by the Government against the Officers/Officials responsible for causing the huge loss to the Government exchequer?

ANSWER

NAWABZADA MIR NADIR ALI KHAN MAGSI, Minister for Food:

(a)   It is submitted that a quantity of 29790 bags of wheat stored at Bolhari Godowns during the year 2006 were noticed affected due to heavy rain showered on 8.9.2006 in Bolhari and Hyderabad areas. The category wise position of the stocks was found as under :-

(b)   As stated in (a) above, the affected wheat as categorize above was got tested from laboratory on 1.8.2008.

(c)    The disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against the officers/officials posted during this period, in order to ascertain their negligency (if any). The report from enquiry officer is awaited.

(d)   The concerned Deputy Director Food Hyderabad, District Food Controller Dadu and the then Centre Incharge Bolhari Godown have been proceeded against & the services of the then Centre Incharge are placed under suspension. The action shall be finalized after the receipt of the enquiry report.

 

*997. MR. SALEEM KURSHED KHOKHAR: Will the Minister for Auqaf be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it fact that religious places of non- Muslims are under the control of Auqaf Department;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in affirmative, District-wise details therefor?

ANSWER

MR. ABDUL HASEEB, Minister for Auqaf:

There is no any Religious places of non-Muslims under the Administrative control of Auqaf Department.

 

 

*998. MR. SALEEM KURSHED KHOKHAR: Will the Minister for Auqaf be pleased to state:-

Names of officers in BPS-16 and above working in the Department on contract basis alongwith posts held by them as on 01-08-08?

ANSWER

MR. ABDUL HASEEB, Minister for Auqaf:

There is no one officer in BPS-16 and above working on contract basis in this Department as on 01-08-2008.

 

*1009. MR. ARIF MUSTAFA JATOI: Will the Minister for Food be pleased to state:-

(a)     Whether it is a fact that the Food Department Godowns in Bolari in Jamshoro District were acquired from the NLC;

(b)     If answer to (a) above be in affirmative, the terms and conditions of the transaction?

 

ANSWER

NAWABZADA MIR NADIR ALI KHAN MAGSI, Minister for Food:

(a)      It is fact that Bolari Godowns in District Jamshoro, were acquired from NLC.

(b)      From the handing-over record, it appears that godowns were simply handed-over to Food Department as and where basis.

 

 

*1088. MR. ARIF MUSTAFA JATOI: Will the Minister for Food be pleased to state:-

Quantity and unit cost of Bardana (Jute and P.P. Wheat Bags) procured by the Department for Procurement Season 2008 alongwith balance stock of same remaining with the Department, as on 1st July, 2008?

ANSWER

NAWABZADA MIR NADIR ALI KHAN MAGSI, Minister for Food:

For the Crop-2008, Sindh Food Department purchases bardana on the following rates:-

Jute bags.

Rs. 59.17 per bags.

Woven Poly Propylene

Rs. 24.95 per bag.

Following quantity of bardana/P.P Bags is available with the Department to be used in the next Crop.
